Question by The real brownies ♥ ™: Can friends of opposite sex hang out without the girlfriend/boyfriend getting jealous?
I haven’t seen my friend in a year because I have been in college. He has a girlfriend, but we are planning on going to a restaurant just to talk like old times. Just the two of us. Do you think this is a good idea? If you was his girlfriend how would you feel?

I suppose it depends on the level of trust. I am a man with a number of female friends. I live and work overseas, and my family is from the foreign country I work in. So I was going to the USA on vacation, and one of my female friends from this same foreign country was going at almost the same time (it was not her primary reason for going there on vacation, but by good luck as much as anything, our vacations overlapped there about 1 week). Of course we planned to hang out so I could show her my homeland, and I even talked to my wife about sharing a hotel room with this female friend (in separate beds of course) in order to save money. She agreed without hesitation. This is major trust (in both of us, as this friend of mine is also a friendly acquaintance of hers), and it is well placed because I will not cheat on her. In the end the female friend and I took separate hotel rooms anyway, just for privacy’s sake.
So it really depends on the individuals involved. I think my case is pretty rare, but surely one meal in a restaurant will do nobody any harm.
